MASTERING THE HIRING PROCESS:  HIRING RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

MSSwebsitepenguins Hiring a candidate with the right skills and clinical experience to do the job is only half the battle.  A successful hire requires the right “fit.”   Every practice has not only a unique culture – but also a unique “personality.” How an individual reacts to the practice dynamics is crucial.  The successful hire is one that is a good fit for both your personal vision and your practice culture.

The challenge then is… “How do I discover all of that before I hire?”  This workshop will explore both the subjective and the objective elements of effective hiring strategies:

  •  On the subjective (“soft”) side, we will explore the importance of “fit” when determining which job candidate will be the most likely to be successful as an employee in your practice. We will identify your “practice personality,” its values, and its pace.  We will discuss the personality traits you will encounter when working with employees and when interviewing job candidates.  We will then examine how each of these traits can either support or weaken the values and vision you have for your practice, and how these same trait indicators play a critical role in the development of effective job descriptions, want ads, and interview questions.
  •  On the objective (“legal”) side, we will discuss the employment law basics every practice owner and manager must know to reduce the chance of employment-related suits and claims.  We will apply those principles to every aspect of the hiring process. Attendees will be learn how to conduct lawful interviews and make important hiring decisions while avoiding the legal landmines that may result in costly legal action.
