MASTERING WORKPLACE CONFLICT:

Keeping Your Practice a Battle-Free Zone

3275241472_5a06d59a05_b The way leaders handle conflict can make the difference between having a successful, thriving practice, or practicing in a stressful combat zone with high turnover and low morale.  How do you, as a practice owner or manager, handle the inevitable office conflicts?  In a recent study, 70% of employees believe that effective conflict management is a “critically important leadership skill.”  In another study, when employees were asked to rate their bosses, 41% believed that their bosses did not handle workplace conflict effectively.

This workshop will explore both the subjective and the objective elements of effectively managing all aspects of workplace conflict:

  •  On the subjective (“soft”) side, we will identify the personality types of both you and each of your team members that, in turn, shape the character of your practice. We will give you the management tools you need for conveying your practice’s unique set of traits, beliefs, culture, and  expectations, and we will explore the conflict resolution techniques that work best with your practice and with each employee type.
  •  On the objective (“legal”) side, we will identify the legal landmines to avoid when dealing with workplace conflict.  Failure to promptly identify and resolve the situations giving rise to conflict between coworkers can jeopardize a practice and even lead to legal action.  We will identify management responses that can be considered unlawful discrimination and harassment, and we will explore ways to minimize liability for actions taken by you and by your management team.

This Workshop is intended for business owners, employers, administrators, and management staff involved in the evaluation, discipline, and termination processes in their dental practice.

This Workshop can be presented as a 3-hour or full-day workshop experience.  As with all Master Series Seminar presentations, this workshop is interactive and entertaining, and uses real-life case studies to help attendees learn the skills they need to be more effective in dealing with inevitable workplace conflict.  Leigh and Judy will use a variety of formats to present the course content, and will incorporate live demonstrations, small group exercises, and lecture formats to provide a high-energy learning experience.
