Leigh Olson is the owner of Nova Consulting and speaker and co-founder of the Colorado Dental Manager’s Association. Leigh’s background and experience has resulted in her unique approach that blends a traditional “objective” style with the intuitive or “soft side” of business management and team development. With over 20 years of experience in people management, training and team building in the dental & healthcare industry Leigh is often referred to as the “business counselor”. Her objective is to help business owners Define, Build and Align their teams around their “Vision”. Using this approach Leigh has helped numerous owners uncover the causes and not just live in the effects of poor personnel choices, low morale, poor production, lack of leadership and ineffective management disciplines. Her program goal is to create the foundation for high performance “Teams” and productive organizations that will last.

By combining her certification as a consultant through Professional DynaMetric Programs with her experience as a sales consultant and trainer for Sunstar Americas as well as treatment coordinator for one of Denver’s largest Perio offices, Leigh has developed a unique approach for selection, hiring, and training teams that crosses all industries. Additionally, she has attended MTI institute for mediation training giving her the means to develop a customized 6 step process that guarantees communication  “break through” for individuals and entire teams experiencing conflict while giving the team the tools to learn self-mediation.
Leigh’s approach helps business owners and their employees “Learn how to Fish” and become more self reliant. Her method coaches them on how to recognize, understand and interact more effectively with the various traits and tendencies that make up their ” team” and those of their patients creating a more stable, productive and balanced environment.

Some of her accomplishments

• Co-Founder of the Colorado Dental Manager’ Association. A study club dedicated to healthcare managers providing key note speakers on topics relevant to their profession. Following key note speakers are “round table” discussions and workshops with their peers. Responsible for all facets, speakers, sponsors etc.
• A past speaker at the 2012 Rocky Mountain Convention to a sold out program titled “The Mad Hatter”. This three hour interactive program / workshop covered a wide variety of personnel conflict situations faced by the office manager on a daily basis.
• Has had an article on successful hiring protocol published in an issue of the Colorado Dental Association magazine i.e. “Hiring right the first time and the effects of poor hiring practices”.
• Healthcare Placement Specialist- Recruiting & matching using a turnkey system and approach.
• Has developed and implemented numerous custom tailored programs and workshops for group presentations as well as private practice training.
